Hi, my name is Dan and I am SugarDanny. I went to culinary school in 2000 to become a classically trained French Pastry Chef and worked for several bakeries in San Francisco for seven years before venturing out on my own for the first time in 2007, to open SugarDanny 1.0, a storefront in the city of San Francisco where we made cakes and cookies.
We were really really good at it but with two infants at home, managing a store front wasn't for me and we closed the business in 2010.
Since then, I worked in the food industry at companies like Bi-Rite helping support 100s of local restaurants by sourcing their supplies.
But what I really love to do is baking, and making people happy through food. And now managing a business has become so much easier with all of the tools moving online - the storefront, the customers, the marketing, the delivery, everything can now be done with a few clicks. So instead of baking all morning and managing customers all day, most of the business can be run from our home kitchen in Burlingame, CA.
